Plot Summary

It's been six months since Hikaru Indou, Yoshiki Tsujinaka's closest friend, vanished in the mountains. When Hikaru came back a week later, he couldn't remember a thing. Yoshiki, feeling uneasy, finally confronts Hikaru about it. To his shock, "Hikaru" reveals a frightening, true self and asks Yoshiki to keep it confidential, expressing his desire not to harm him. Even with this strange nature, "Hikaru" appears innocent, filled with a childlike curiosity for all the joys of life-like summer afternoons and the beauty of the countryside-as if experiencing everything for the first time in a human form. For Yoshiki, it doesn't matter if this "Hikaru" is just a shadow of his friend, borrowing memories. All he cares about is that "Hikaru" stays by his side. As Yoshiki clings to him tighter, his deep sadness mixes with the worry that something dark and unnatural may have crept from the mountains into their village.
